Day 3 : Triglav massif

6-day trek in the Triglav massif, the roof of Slovenia.

You start your trek from Bohinjska Bistrica (509 metres) in the direction of Oroznova Koca (1.346 metres). Here you are on the ridges of the massif.

Duration: 5 to 6 hours.

Elevation gain: 1335 metres.

Overnight in the mountain refuge of Zorko Jelincic Mt Hut.

Day 4 : Crna Prst

Today you continue your trek with a more pleasant day. You stay on the ridges of the massif to first reach Rodica (1,966 m) and then reach Mount Vogel and its ski centre (1,922 m), where the view is breathtaking, to finish the day at Razor (1,300 m). A breathtaking view of the valley and the lake below will be offered to you. You can guess the route of the trek which overlooks the lake and the valley like an arena. The Triglav, the highest peak in the country, rises before you and challenges you.

Duration: 7 to 8 hours

Elevation gain: +300 m / -200 m

Day 5 : Vogel moutain

This morning we continue our walk on the ridges of the massif where the vegetation is short and sparse. You pass through Skrbina Pass (1,891 m) before reaching Komna (1,520 m) and then you leave the ridges to go up towards the north of the massif.

Duration: 4 – 5 hours

Elevation gain: +600 metres / -400 metres

Day 6 : This day is one of the most varied in terms of landscapes

This day is one of the most varied in terms of landscapes. You continue northwards towards the Triglav Mountains, through wooded paths, through the valley of lakes, and at the end of the day the beginning of the first scree slopes where the landscape becomes mineral. You reach Prehodavci (2,071m).

Duration: 8 hours

Elevation gain: +600 m

Day 7 : Prehodavci

After leaving the hut you start on a very mineral route, where you go up and down through scree slopes. You go up towards the north of the massif to reach the hut at the foot of the Triglav massif.

Duration: 5 to 6 hours

Elevation gain: +700 metres / -200 metres

Day 8 : Planika

Today you will tackle the most difficult summit of the trek to face the symbol of Slovenia: Triglav, an emblematic summit for the Slovenians. The mountain has three peaks which gave it its name Triglav, three heads. The ascent is challenging both by the demanding route and the sometimes narrow and dizzying path. You will reach the summit where you will find a small hut. You finish your trek by descending the massif to the Krma valley. You will find vegetation and a real trail downhill until your arrival.

Duration: 2 to 3 hours for the summit and 4 to 5 hours for the descent.

Elevation gain: +500 metres /- 2000 metres. Overnight in a typical charming guesthouse, close to Lake Bled. Standard room.
